De’Keither Stamps
De’Keither Stamps is a remarkable figure whose life exemplifies service, resilience, and leadership. Hailing from Learned, Mississippi, he has deep roots in the community’s schools, including McLeod, Timberlawn, Siwell, and Forest Hill, where his early education laid the groundwork for his strong character.
After high school, De’Keither joined the United States Marine Corps, serving for several years. During this time, he had the honor of working in Presidential Security for Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush. Following this, he continued his service with the State Department in various roles across Africa, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Driven by his commitment to service, De’Keither re-enlisted, this time with the Army in 2005, and was deployed to Iraq as part of the 82nd Airborne Division, demonstrating his endurance and dedication to the cause of freedom.
De’Keither’s experiences extend far beyond geographical borders. He has engaged in global dialogue, trained with fellow servicemen and women, faced challenges head-on, and showcased remarkable resilience.
Returning to Jackson, De’Keither continued his service to the community as City Councilman for Ward 4 and later as the Mississippi State Representative for District 66, advocating for the needs and aspirations of his constituents.
In his current role as Public Service Commissioner for the Central Mississippi District, De’Keither draws on his extensive experience to work towards a brighter, more efficient future for his home state, with an unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Mississippians.
Family is at the core of De’Keither’s life, where he finds inspiration and support. His commitment to service and integrity is deeply rooted in his family, and he is driven to leave a legacy of service for future generations.
